Glade shares his fascinating life experiences growing up in Arizona and Lancaster, California, and the events that led to his service in the Vietnam war. His war stories are funny, harrowing, and amazing. If you want to know what it was really like to be drafted, trained, and serve your country in a foreign land, his account provides details often left out of the history books. A great read, I gained a new appreciation for the "Baby Boomer" generation and the way they stepped up when they were "called to duty".
Easy and enjoyable read. Great story telling of some very humorous childhood memories, and the much more sobering ones from service in Vietnam as an infantry soldier. It doesn't disappoint cover to cover... except leaving me wanting to "hear" even more.
Written with a touch of innocence and a sense of humor even in the most horrible of circumstances. Serving their country during a very trying time.
Easy reading ... brought back many childhood and other memories of youth ... recommend as a relaxing read ...
